Can everyone please bring the grandparents to their family portrait session? I absolutely love when families do this.

There is something so special about having multiple generations together in front of the camera. We of course photographed the entire family, but we also had time for grandparents with their granddaughter, grandparents with their own daughter, and plenty of other combinations. Those are the photographs that only become more meaningful as the years go by.

And it doesn’t have to mean planning a big extended family session. This family brought the grandparents along to their fall mini session in Pleasanton, and we were able to capture so much variety in a short amount of time while still getting plenty of photographs of their immediate family.

If you’re considering family portraits and have grandparents nearby, invite them along. Years from now, I have a feeling these will be some of the photographs everyone treasures most.
